The reason is that it is the propaganda spread against things leads to the actual war.
In today's world most people have very strong opinions which generally dont change. Now whats the source on which the opinions are based? Newspapers, News channels, Radio etc i.e. THE MEDIA.
Now pause for a moment and think- Is the media controlling you? Is it making you believe what they want you to believe?
Its important and correct to have an opinion but is it flexible enough to change once you know the other side of story? Or have people been "brainwashed" that they dont want to even look at the other side!!
Its dangerous if you are controlled by someone else and its even more dangerous if the masses are controlled by someone else!
"The pen is mightier than the sword"
But what if the pen is in the wrong hands? Now the question comes- "Why would the media do something like this?". Their job after all is to make the people aware!
WRONG!! In the age of TRP's and Profit generation ethics are taking a back seat and money is what matters!
DID YOU KNOW??
During the recent Maharashtra elections many newspapers and news channels telecasted and wrote congress advertisements as NEWS thus manipulating the voters and ultimately the results. All this was done for MONEY. The nexus was ultimately exposed by "THE HINDU" newspaper ( Detailed post on this coming soon).
When you dont believe in advertisements of products is it right to believe in advertisements disguised in the form of news? Or has the time come to be rational and look for alternate sources of information and be flexible in approach.
Lets look at the power of Media with the help of an example.
Think about BIHAR for a moment. There are high chances that a not so good picture of it came into your mind. Widespread poverty, illiteracy, corruption, scams is what one thinks of.
But do you know that in the past year Bihar was the 2nd highest state in terms of development next only to Gujarat!! Have a look at the following article from ToI-
The perception might have changed after reading the success story of Bihar in the newspaper though you might not have believed it otherwise! Thats the power Media carries.
Though it doesnt mean that whole Media is at fault or they do not do anything right. Media has highlighted many important issues in the past and will do so even in the future. But it is time to realize the nexus functioning in Media ( The movie Rann would throw more light on this I hope). Should people stop believing media blindly and start analysing themselves?
There opinion might not change even after that but then they are sure that its their OWN opinion and not someone controlling them.
Godhra Riots- A communal blunder and BJP's worst nightmare. But do you know 1984 Anti-Sikh riots were much worse (A detailed post coming soon).
Varun Gandhi's much publicized speech against the muslims. A similar speech was made against the Hindus in Andhra Pradesh I guess at a similar time. NO NEWS! Also check the manifesto of the NCP candidate here . Again NO NEWS!
Congress- Party for the youth. An analysis of the MP's after election revealed that BJP had more "youth" MP's than congress. And after few months another report in ToI mentioned that Congress youth MP's had started LEAST discussions in Parliament!
Sugar at Rs 50/- kg, More than 30% of population STILL below poverty line, 50 years of Congress (Common man's govt) rule, No talk of price rise in Media! Connect the dots.
Is It time to start looking for answers?

Police are working with universities to clamp down on "aggressive conversions" during which girls are beaten up and forced to abandon university courses.
The Hindu Forum of Britain claims hundreds of mostly Sikh and Hindu girls have been intimidated by Muslim men who take them out on dates before terrorising them until they convert.
Sir Ian spoke about the problem at a conference organised by the forum. A Met spokesman said: "Neighbourhood officers work with university authorities in London and we would encourage anyone targeted in this way to seek help and support and where necessary use third party reporting facilities if they do not want to contact police directly."
Ramesh Kallidai, of the Hindu Forum of Britain, said: "Some girls are petrified because they are constantly being phoned up, having their door knocked. "One girl was beaten up on the street and others have been forced to leave university."
• Met police chiefs are to review a controversial stop-and-search power used in the fight against terrorism. Assistant commissioner Andy Hayman, the overall head of Britain's anti-terrorist operations, said he had concerns about the number of stops carried out in London using Section 44 legislation.

The UT administration, which had earlier said the report would be ready by Tuesday, was mum on its deadline. Sources said the report is likely to make adverse comments on school’s role, which may have allegedly led to this move.
Voicing apprehension, Ruchuka’s friend Anuradha’s sister Adhunika, said “the delay may work in favour of the school, if the panel stepped in.” “We would approach the administration to urge them for speedy action in submitting the report,” she said.
Technically, once the commission steps in, it would then become the supreme authority and any future action on the part of the administration could be put under its purview.
However, a senior functionary of the commission in Delhi said the panel was also aware of public and media attention, which would guide its actions as well. ”
According to sources, the fact finding report has pointed out the anomaly that Ruchika had been a defaulter in 1989 also, but neither her name was scrapped off the rolls nor was she was expelled. It was only after her molestation in 1990 that, within a month, she was asked to leave the school. The report is expected to be submitted on Wednesday to the UT home secretary.

India and its love for the minorities which exploit the laws time and again by playing the "minority card". BTW India is a "secular" country which technically should treat all with same yardstick irrespective of the religion!!

A little more reading into the article made me realise that it was not so rubbish after all. The article has some allegations which are quite possible so its worth reading.

My opinion after reading the article-
Though its medically possible its very unlikely that it happened. If the britishers wanted revenge then the method they adopted was too risky and there operation "Trojan horse" could have been flop easily had they not pulled the lever at the right time.
So its very unlikely that it happened but the possibility cannot be ruled out and the allegation will remain Unsolved!

Mohammad Fakhrul Islam, a resident of Kadarabad village in Begusarai district donated about 2,700 sq ft land for construction of a Hindu temple. Two Muslim villagers, Mohammad Hashrat and Mohammad Wasi, along with other Muslims, began constructing the temple at Kadarabad ghat.
“Muslims have laid the foundation of the new temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva in the village,” Hashrat said.
“We will construct the temple to send a strong message of harmony,” Wasi said.
A police officer said some Muslims of the village are constructing the temple despite protests from within the community.
“A few people from within the community opposed them but they went ahead with the construction of the temple,” the officer said.
Islam said nearly 30 years ago, some Hindu villagers constructed the tomb of a Muslim saint in the same village.

Below is the link to a very thoughtful article about the Majestic River Ganga of which maybe there would be just tales left to tell to our children as the river might not even exist!!
Interesting Fact- Ganga is the only river in the world whose water is not affected even when it is stored for many years. Even mineral water is affected after sometime. Scientists say that it happens because of a special type of Bacteria but there is no concrete reason as to why the "special" bacteria is only found in Ganga water!

A circular has been issued to all its Project Directors regarding provision of display boards at 25 km interval on both sides alternatively in English, Hindi and the local language.
In response to an RTI query, the NHAI said out of the total of 1,488 such billboards, a maximum of 282 will be on national highways in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand and Jharkhand, 249 in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana and 214 in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. A total of 170 display boards are planned in Andhra Pradesh, 126 in Maharashtra and Goa, 120 in Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, 108 in West Bengal and Orissa and 91 in Karnataka and Kerala. While 70 billboards are proposed to be put in Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and 58 in Assam and other North-east States.
The display boards are to be provided at the cost of the contractor or concessionaire and NHAI will not incur any expenditure on this account, the reply said.
According to NHAI, the board of size 20 ft (horizontal) x 10 feet (vertical) shall be fixed in row portion.
"Photo-publicity of political rulers and other living personalities including through media-advertisements at public-expense should be altogether banned to prevent misuse of public-money for image-projection of leaders for political purposes," RTI applicant Subhash Chandra Agarwal said in the petition.
The double-side boards are expected to cost roughly Rs 4 lakh each, according to industry estimates. In case of projects involving four-laning of say 1,000 km, the developer will have to pay Rs 1.6 crore for setting up 40 such boards. During the concession period of 20 or 30 years as fixed under the contract, the onus of maintaining these boards will be on the private developer.
